Ken was on board Crystal Serenity, as a resource person, when the 820 foot, 68,000 ton cruise ship successfully transited the Northwest Passage in August 2016. About Arctic Series with Ken Burton

Ken Burton is a retired RCMP Inspector and the current Executive Director of the Vancouver Maritime Museum. During his RCMP days he skippered many of the RCMP patrol vessels and holds a 500 GT captain's ticket. He was on board the Crystal Serenity as an on board resource person/guide/lecturer during the cruise ship's historic voyage through the Northwest Passage in the summer of 2016. He has served in a similar position on many Northwest Passage cruises. In the year 2000 Captain Burton skippered the Nadon , a 20- metre high speed aluminum west coast patrol vessel, renamed the St. Roch II for the voyage, on a 169 day, 24,000 nautical mile circumnavigation of North America commemorating the voyage of St. Roch many years earlier
